Using Stationery in your email serves more than the obvious purpose of adding style to your messages. By adding the name and the URL of your site under your signature along with using stationery, you can promote your site with a visual lasting impression. Stationery can also help ease the eye strain that comes with reading text on a white background.

Some email programs will not support stationery backgrounds. This is especially true of the online email sites. But if you have MS Outlook Express 4.0 or a newer version, you can drastically change the appearance of the messages you send to others. (Please keep in mind that people using AOL may not be able to read your emails unless they have turned off the image compressor.)

Don't know how to install stationery backgrounds into your email program?
Just follow the instructions below.

Instructions for Installing Stationery
Into the MS Outlook Express Program

Three easy steps to adding stationery to your mail program.

Step 1 - How to take the ones you want!

From the list below, choose any stationery you would like. Each has two parts, the main html page and the image used for the background. The pages include font designation and colors for text, and links.

To save the html page, select 'FILE' from your toolbar while the stationery page is on your screen. Then select 'Save As' and select a location on your hard drive to store the file. Next, right click on the middle of the page and select 'save background'. Save the image with the page. You will get a background image stored in a folder along with the page. When you have finished copying the files, you will need to delete this folder.

Step 2 - Where to place the ones you take!

Open Windows Explorer and select 'program files', then select 'common files'. Now select 'microsoft shared' and then open the 'stationery' folder. Cut and paste the html pages and their images into the stationery folder. Now you can delete the image folder!

Step 3 - How to use the ones you save!

Open MS Outlook Express and select the arrow next to 'New Mail'. A list of available stationery will show. The list you see is limited to 10, but you can have 100's. There is additional stationery under 'Select Stationery'. In the Select Stationery option you can view the different stationery until you find the one you want to use. Select it and hit the 'okay' and your on your way. Enjoy!
