The Honorable Governor ____________

Dear
Governor___________,
Please join Florida Governor Jeb Bush and the National Association of
Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA) in recognizing the millions of Americans
who currently participate in the martial arts. We are requesting an official
proclamation recognizing October 15, 2005, as National Martial Arts Day
in our state. As stated by Governor Bush in his proclamation, martial
arts is renowned for introducing and reinforcing the values of self-discipline,
focus and self-esteem while enhancing non-violent conflict resolution,
goal setting abilities and strength of character creating productive,
healthy people.
Martial arts schools across the state will be hosting open houses, charitable
fundraisers, exhibitions, demonstrations, parties, picnics and other activities
in celebration of National Martial Arts Day. The purpose is to provide
exposure and bring new attention to the arts, increasing their visibility
and attracting new participants. The goal is to rally the entire country
around one day of activities that unite all martial arts schools and their
participants in a common effort. By doing so, we can deliver an incredible
message recognizing the positive benefits of martial arts training.
NAPMA will be promoting National Martial Arts Day in their monthly magazine,
Martial Arts Professional, which is distributed free to more than 28,000
martial arts schools in North America. Your proclamation recognizing October
15, 2005 as National Martial Arts Day in our state will go a long way
in ensuring the success of this worthy cause.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
Sincerely,
