This is what started it all.  I was actually envisioning a nice 240Z at the time but discovered that $4.25/hr at the Egg-A-Day convenience store wouldn't buy much of a Z-car.  This little Roadster was still at the junk yard when I got back from summer vacation so...  Dad and I went to look at it.  I sat in the seat pretending to be Gilles Villeneuve and marveling at the strangeness of the seats - with their short backs and very long squabs (turns out they were laying seat back down against the floor) - while Dad looked it over.  Finally he looked at me and said "Is this really what you what?"  I was shocked.  Not really understanding what I was getting into, I could barely utter the word - Yes!  Dad went to negotiate while I started taking a closer look at what I knew would soon be mine.  By the time my shrewd father had returned I was down a mere $675 of my Egg-A-Day wages AND they were towing the car back to my house!

My first car.  That was August of 1983.  Although it didn't look like much, I must have chosen wisely as I still have that same Roadster.  And it's still my favorite car.
