Here are a few pictures of the car autocrossing.  First is me checking tire pressures.  The next three are runs from the SCCA event on July 6th.  The last is Woody from the same event.

               

The car is being set up to SCCA Street Prepared rules.  Solex carbs with a B cam, comp front springs and sway bar, koni shocks, lightened steel flywheel, stock springs in the rear.  All the bump stops have been cut down.  Racing wheels are 14x8 Independent Racing shod in 225/50-14 Hoosier A3S04's with 15x8.5 4 spoke Revolutions and 205/50-15 Falken Azenis for the street.  I was able to track down a 4.11 Limited Slip as well so the basic set-up is handled.  Here's a picture of how it looked at the Ft. Myers National Tour in Feb. '04.

Here are Results from last season;

2/1/03 - First autocross.  "Fastest virgin" at Sunriders in St. Pete.  I was 16th overall out of 37 drivers.                3/8/03 - 31st of 46 cars - Second Sunriders event. I drove an older stock Miata on worn out street tires.   3/9/03 - 9th of 30 cars - Third Sunriders Event.  I went back to the Datsun and the Falken Azenis for this    event.     What a difference tires make.  I lost the fastest novice title at this event by 6/100ths.                  5/17/03 - Fastest Novice by a long shot.  I claimed 3rd fastest time of the day.  FTD was on race tires.               6/29/03 - First SCCA event.  I only made 2 runs do to an alternator problem but was still the fastest novice. 7/5-6/03 - Ran both practice and event days.  This was my first SCCA event in class (CSP) and I finished a distant second to the year end class winner who was on Kuhmo V700's.  SCCA events require stickier tires!   8/30-31/03 - SCCA.  Lots of seat time on the 30th, first time on Hoosier's on the 31st.  Once again I finished second to Jim Bledsoe who won the class for the year.  This time, I was only a half second back though.  9/20/03 - Back to Sunriders after their summer break.  Fastest time on Street tires.  Third fastest overall.    9/21/03 - First SCCA Class win!  Both Jim Bledsoe and Don Alexander (1st and 2nd in class for the year) were there.  We all got 10 runs on this day!  After the 4 morning runs I led by .070 - In the afternoon, I was able to open up a half second lead over Jim and held onto it to claim that first class win.  5th fastest time overall.    10/12/03 - SCCA at GIR.  First time in the rain for me.  Jim and Don get their revenge and I finish 3rd in class. 10/26/03 - SCCA.  First in class.  Didn't drive well but then again, there wasn't much competition on this day.  11/15/03 - Last Sunriders event of the year.  3rd fastest time.  The top three cars were all within 3/10ths.
