First off, we have me during the college years.  U2 was pretty big about that time so my band mates called me "The Hedge".   Next, there are a couple of pictures of the roadster as it looked just prior to the engine coming out.  Below are a couple of pictures of the car as it looks today with the Minilites.

Below  are a few pictures of the only car I actually considered selling the Roadster for.  And it's FRENCH!  Any idea what it is.  I'll give you a hint - It's not a Renault Alpine.  And I have not seen another in person since.  The pictures below are not of the particular car that I saw for sale out side a foreign car shop in Birmingham.  Just the same model that I found on the web.
