Here are some of the street names:
If you drove straight into town you were on Gaillard Avenue.
If you made a right by the Quonset Hut going to "the Ridge" you were on Goethals Blvd.
If you turned right by the Police Station off Gaillard Avenue the road was Siebert Place
which ran up to "Snob Hill" to the Supervisor's House.
Continuing "downtown" Gaillard Avenue became Gaillard Highway.
If you turned by the far side of the P.O. you were on Jadwin
Avenue which as we all know went uphill and when you came to a "Y" you went to the left.
The right side I believe is Muran.
Meanwhile, "Black Place" or the "Dust Bowl" is past Jadwin Avenue going toward the "mountain",
where there were four 12 family houses and further down three 4-family houses.
To the left side of the "Dust Bowl" where all the other 12 family
houses were is called Vandenburg Place and Platt Parkway.

The road to the "Ridge" is Morrow Avenue.  Where the Golf Club was is Maltby Place.
Harding Avenue is the street going from the bottom of the hill perpendicular to Jadwin Ave.
up to the top of the Hill where it bisects Snob Hill and Rum Road
and has a 1 Bachelor Quarter, 1 4-family and many cottages.
Williamson Place is the area we called Rum Road.
I hope this helps you read the map..
