Best Entertainment Sites

Select a category to view our favorite entertainment sites...we've compiled lots of great ways for you to amuse yourself online:

Fun & Games | Personality Tests & Quizzes | Gossip & Humor | TV & Movies

Fun & Games - Here are a few sites that can keep you entertained for hours:
Yahoo! Games - There are dozens of great solo and multi-player games on this site. Mike's favorites are Cribbage and Pool, and Shay's faves are Bookworm and Crossword. (Note: You have to be registered on Yahoo! to play, but it's free to sign up.)
Pogo - Another site with lots of amusing games. Word Whomp, Treasure Trivia, and Virtual Date are some of the fun ways you can waste time here. (Note: This site also requires free registration.)
Games.com - Yet more games! (Note: Once again, free registration is required.) Pretty good as far as game sites go, but we generally stick with Yahoo! and Pogo.
MiniClip - Cool games and other entertaining stuff. Select the moves for an animated George "Dubya" Bush as he does aerobics, disco dances, and boogies with Britney. Or, play games like Ultimate Tetris, Kingpin Bowling, Kung Fu Super Fighter, and more.

Personality Tests & Quizzes - If you like taking fun tests and quizzes, here are a few sites you may want to check out:
eMode - Tons of great personality tests. You don't need to register to take the quizzes, but you'll probably want to sign up (it's free) to access the full results descriptions. Here are a few fun quizzes to try: "Discover Your Past (Animal) Life", "What color is your aura?", "What breed of dog are you?", "What's your theme song?", "Which 'Survivor' are you?". (And there are over a hundred more where those came from...)
Couplandesque: Boredom - A big variety of quizzes developed by people with a lot of time on their hands. It helps to have an understanding of pop culture for many of these, such as "Which Trainspotting character are you?", "Which British band are you?", "Which grunge band are you?", and others.
OutOfService.com - This site has several entertaining tests, including "Big Five Personality Test", "The Do-Re-Mi's of Personality", "Find Your Star Wars Twin", and "Are you a freak?". All tests are free, and no registration is required. The site also includes links to several fun "Random Time Diversions".
PsychTests.com and Queendom.com - These sites have hundreds of tests in a variety of categories. (You can access the same tests/results from either site.) You have to purchase a subscription if you want full access to all tests; however, you can register for free and search by credits to take demo tests and fun quizzes that don't require any credit points.

Gossip & Humor - If you find entertainment value in celebrity gossip, government secrets, silly court cases, stupid criminals, and clever humor, you'll love these sites:
MSNBC: Jeannette Walls Delivers The Scoop - A great place for reliable celebrity news and gossip. You can also sign up for an entertaining newsletter with the inside scoop on awards shows and more.
Other "Gossip" Sites - A few other good celebrity news sites include E! Online, EW.com (Entertainment Weekly), and People
The Smoking Gun - This site has tons of hilarious true documents obtained via the Freedom of Information Act, from government memos to police reports. Take a peek at today's featured document, have a laugh at the Document of the Year winners, view musicians' often outlandish concert riders, and search the archives.
The Onion - Humor and satire presented in the guise of news. (You know those humorous fake news releases and phony articles that get passed around via email? This is usually where they come from...)
The Tonight Show: Headlines - View the hilarious real headlines/stories/ads that viewers send in to The Tonight Show. This is our favorite segment of the show, and we're always disappointed when Jay Leno runs out of time before he can read them all. It's great to be able to view them online now!
Late Show: Top Ten - If you don't normally watch Letterman but enjoy his top ten lists, you can access them on the CBS web site.

TV & Movies
TV Guide -  Access your local television listings via the TV Guide web site.
Studio Audiences - This site tells you how to get tickets to live tapings of your favorite TV shows.
Moviefone - Find out what movies are playing at your local cinemas, check movie times, even buy your tickets online.
Movie Review Query Engine - If you're trying to decide which movie to spend your hard-earned entertainment dollars on, go to this site and punch in the title of the films you're interested in...you'll get links to reviews from dozens of publications.

Do you know of any other good entertainment sites? Send us an email with the links...we'll check out the sites and add them to the list if we think others will enjoy them!
