Rascal
Second Saturday After Surgery
to excise fibrosarcoma caused by vaccination
01/12/02
Rascal and I went on a ride to do errands, then to the "Club" so he could sniff the salt air, walk through the mangroves, and eat grass and sand spurs (ugh).  This is Rascal's high quality of life.

When we got home, I took photos of him in the front yard.  You can see how much fur has regrown in 10 days, and see that he is feeling good enough to take off across the street to protect his turf.  In fact, there were two cats there, but only one got in the photo.  Rascal stood his own, and finally, as I gave him his food call, he allowed me to approach and pick him up.  Clearly he has no comprehension that his reign is in any way compromised by surgery.

The below photos run almost like a movie.  Please let me know if they load all right or if they are slow.  I have done no editing to these (except the final two which are brightened a bit).  I downloaded them from the Mavica 7f (which DonO and Joanie Owen so kindly loaned me!) and then uploaded them to the site.

Rascal ran across the street to be sure his kingdom is intact.  One other cat ran off.  Rascal and mom are safe again!

Home to rest

I thought there was a time delay switch (someday I'll read the manual) but not finding it, I just held the camera an arm's length away.
