Takes place in the deep forest, away from any human habitation. Woods are home to 2 elvan cats, whose nest is here. PC's pass, cats try to see if PC's will feed them. One uses it's tree ability, seeming to meld into the branches. Other cat approches PC's meowing hungrily. It uses ESP on PC's to see if they are friendly and what thier intentions are. If PC's feed cat, it eats half before it tress itself while it's mate comes to eat. Cats will then guild PC's through the woods. If PC's try to catch the cat, one takes the bait then the both enlarge and attack once cat is grabed. All forest creatures will act negitively toward PC's after that. On the Warpath
D = Low
The area is forested and covered with rolling hills, the tress affording little cover. Before the PC's cont. on the must make a Wis. check @ +3. If good, they here the sound of marching feet coming toward them over a nearby hill. If PC's look, they see a large goblin force (20) double timing through the woods and can hear the faint snap of leaves and twigs that attests to their reality. Each is armed with a war painted face, brutal short sword, a short bow, and a quiver of wickedly barbed arrows. If the PC's try to avoid the goblins they succeed. If the PC's engage the goblins they fight in an orderly fashion, half of them using their bows. They have no treasure other then the weapons. Southbound Express
D = Low
The area is foothills though more rock then earth. As PC's pick their way through the hills they here the sound of pounding feet echoing through the ravines. PC's don't know which direction it's coming from untill they see a figure running around the bend at the northern part of the ravine. It's a Hobgoblin Chieftain, running full tilt, headed south. He has 2 long swords, crossed over his back, and holds a bow in his right hand with a half empty quiver on his left hip. If PC's do nothing to stop him, the hobgoblin vanishes out the southern end of the ravine. He won't respond to hails and he will go around obstacles or attack (PC's if they get in front of him). He appears to be very strong though it is apparent he has been running for awhile. If PC's kill him, they can take both long swords +1. Quick Stats: MV 12; AC 2; HD 4; hp 22; THACO 17(+1); #att 2; Dmg 1-8 +4/ 1-8 +4; MR Nil.
Drunken Centaur
D = Low
A medium sized village without a town watch or guard. The sound of breaking furniture and bellowing draws PC's to a bar/tavern. As they approach a middle aged man in an apron spots them and begs "please, he's destroying my bar! Can you help me?" If the PC's enter the tavern, they see a rowdy, drunken centaur adventure yelling at a scared barmaid. If PC's subdue the centaur, the inn keeper offers them dinner, rooms, and breakfast, free of charge for their help. In the morning, the centaur is very embarrassed and apologizes to every one especially the PC's. Quick Stats: Centaur: MV 18; AC 5; HD 4; hp 20; THACO 17; #att 3; Dmg 1-6/1-6/1-8 (long sword); MR Nil
