It was a cool and cloudy November morning on my
parent’s fish farm in Odessa, Florida. I was playing
on the bank of one the enormous ponds, which teemed
with a multitude of exotic tropical fishes.
My peaceful rural surroundings were suddenly shattered
by a voice booming from the heaven itself.
“DYLAN CHRISTOPHER BRIGHT, I HAVE CHOSEN YOU TO
DEVELOP INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA CONTENT. YOU SHALL
MAKE IT AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET THAT ALL THE PEOPLE
OF THE WORLD MAY ENJOY THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOR!”
“But this is 1979,” I said, “the internet hasn’t even
been invented yet! And I’m four years old!”
“YOU SHALL DEVELOPE THIS INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA
CONTENT USING MACROMEDIA’S FLASH 4! AND YOU SHALL USE
IT TO PERSUADE LEONARD NIMOY TO EAT MORE SALSA!”
“This makes absolutely no sense to me.” I said,” I’m
going back inside to play with my Star Wars action
figures.”
“KEEP THEM IN THE PACKAGE! YOU WILL BE RICH IF YOU
DO!”
“But then you can’t play with them,” I said. “You’re
insane.”
I didn’t understand that mysterious voice from heaven
until recently. Now it is all clear.
