Frequently Asked Questions

Ceilcare - Roofcare - Deckcare

Ceilcare

Q:  My options are to either replace my ceiling tiles or to have them cleaned.  What are the advantages of cleaning over replacement?

A:  The first advantage of cleaning over replacement is the cost.  In replacement, you will incure the cost of the new ceiling tiles, the cost of labor to remove the old ceiling tiles, the cost of labor to clean the existing grid and fixtures, the cost of labor to install the new ceiling tiles and then the final clean up.   The cost of cleaning you existing ceiling tiles is 1/5 to 1/20 of the cost of replacement.

The second avantage is time.  To perform the necessary tasks to replace your ceiling tiles will take up to 3 working days for an average 2000 sf of tile.   Cleaning with Ceilcare can be done in an evening and will be much less interruptive of your business.  Envirotech provides their services during off hours and weekends to ensure no disruption in your business, at no additional cost.

The thrid avantage is our maintenance program.  Your ceiling tiles can be cleaned more than once, and they can be cleaned many times for the price of one replacement. It is possible, that your company may never have to replace the ceiling, provided the ceiling is always maintained in a cleanable condition.

Q:  What process do you use to clean ceiling tiles?

A:    First, we protech the necessary items as if they were our own.  We then remove all loose dirt, dust and cobwebs. The "magic" happens when Ceilcare, our water based, non toxic, biodegradable, environmentally safe, USDA accepted product is applied in a low volume, low pressure sprayer . Through an oxidation process the dirt dissipates into a harmless vapor.  We then clean all non-pourous items such at t-bars, grids, lights, speaker covers, sprinkers and exit signs. Finally, before leaving, we inspect all areas that have been serviced, leaving the facility cleaner than when we arrived.

Q:  What are other benefits of ceiling tile cleaning with Ceilcare?

A:  Our service makes your ceiling tiles looks like new again by substantially improving the accoustical value, flame retardant and light reflection properties.

We remove health hazards such as fungi, mildew, pollen and pollution residue.

With regular service, the life of an acoustical ceiling can often be extended to the life of the building.  Each time the ceiling is serviced, it will look new again.

Our products are environmentally safe and non-toxic.

Our service is safer than painting.  Painting reduces the acoustics forever. It seals in dirt, grease, grime and microorganisms and can cause a fire and health hazard. Painting adds considerable weight to the ceiling. Also, in many areas it is against local building code and fire codes to paint an acoustical ceiling.

Envirotech is committed to customer satisfaction.   If you not completely satisfied with our service, we will make it right, or refund your cleaning investment.

Deckcare

Q:  Why should I clean my deck?

A:  Desks are an expensive investment and need to be maintained. Your deck will look newer and last longer with proper care and maintenance.

Q:  What destroys a deck?

A:  Wood surfaces covered in mold and mildew cause dangerous slippery conditions; as well as rotting, splitting and corrosion of nails, making your deck deteriorate at a much faster rate.

Q:  Do I need to clean before I reseal my deck?

A:  YES. Your wood deck needs to be cleaned to remove the mold, mildew and failed sealers. We restore your woods natural color preparing it for sealing, by deep cleaning the wood.

Q:  Why use Deckcare instead of bleach?

A:   Deckare attacks and breaks down the bond between the organic stains and the surface of the wood and goes deep into the pores of the wood, pulling the mold and mildew out of the wood. Bleach only works on the surface and dries out the wood. Deckare restores the natural honey color to your wood deck.

Q:  What if I seal without cleaning?

A:  The mold, mildew and debris will continue to grow under the sealer, causing the sealer to fail.  By removing these organic items before sealing, you will ensure longer lasting beauty and protection of your investment.

Q:  Will Deckcare hurt my plants?

A:  Deckcare is safe for most plants, vegetation and lawns. It is safe for the enviornment, unlike chlorine bleaches or acids.  Envirotech uses care around the more delicate plants to by properly covering them prior to the application of our products.

Q:  How often should a deck be cleaned?

A:  If you have ever pressure washed your deck, you may have noticed the return of mold and mildew within a years time.  When cleaned and sealed properly, you can reduce the maintenace requirements to 3-5 years.   Envirotech provides a 3 year warranty on most deck surfaces.

Q:  Can a deck be cleaned without sealing after?

A:  It is strongly recommended that you seal your deck after it is cleaned.  By sealing you deck you are ensuring it is protected from the regrowth of mold and mildew and the suns damanging rays.  Envirotech recommends and uses Cabot Stain, which contains mildewcides and sun protection. Cabot is highly rated by Consumer Reports Magazine.

Q:  What type of sealer should I use: water based or oil based?

A:  The type of stain you use should depend on the surface and the weather conditions in your area. Water based finishes are more forgiving in damp weather conditions.  Oil based give the best UV protection but don't stand up as well to foot traffic.

Q:  What type of stain or finish should I use: transparent, semi-transparent or solid?

A:  This depends on the wear and tear the surface will take or the traffic on the deck. A deck that gets little traffic can use a transparant stain. A deck that gets a lot of use with children, pets or parties needs a more durable finish like semi-transparent. A deck that has seen its share of wear and tear and needs a face lift will do well with a solid stain.
