Mammatus Clouds

amateur astronomy
and
astrophotography

Taken on 9/1/2004, 7:45pm EST from my backyard in Tierra Verde, Florida, with an Olympus C4000Z at 1/40 second exposure at f-3.5, ISO 200 and full wide angle. Processed in PhotoShop CS and Neat Image Pro. The image is a mosaic of two exposures stitched in the vertical. Taken shortly after a very strong evening thunderstorm. Mammatus clouds are rare at this location.
