Design Notes:
The ACNS Kosa light carrier is still in the experimental stages of development, with only one prototype in service. It has been designed to match the Admiral Wulfe class commerce raiders in size, shape and jump performance. The intention is to use the Kosa with existing "Wulfe" packs, providing a fighter squadron to the pack’s attack capability.
The ACNS Kosa is designed to carry a squadron of 16 light fighters. While most of the fighters are carried externally using docking rings, one is carried in a hanger where fighters can also be repaired. The hanger has supporting electronic and machine shops and is large enough to carry two fighters, but when two fighters are being stored there, the hanger is too crowded to do any serious repair work. The crew includes four personnel specifically for fighter preparation and maintenance.
The ACNS Kosa carries an extensive suite of defensive armaments and measures, including automated VRF PD Lasers, nuclear dampers, electro-static armor, sandcasters, a meson screen, stealth, drive masking, neutrino masking, and a variety of sensor jammers. However, the ACNS Kosa depends on the fighter squadron for offensive capabilities.
The light fighters currently carried on the ACNS Kosa are a mix of SSC F-15’s and F-15M's, designed and manufactured by Svenson’s Small Craft specifically for the Ariisite Colonial Navy.
The crew includes an eight man marine contingent.
