Design Notes
The SSC15MCT modular cutter is designed as a moderate cost modular cutter. Due to the use of Thruster Plates for acceleration the SSC15MCT is able to operate in deep space. The moderate cost makes the class affordable for those who do require such deep space operations.
Features of the SSC15MCT include 3.5 G acceleration loaded, 11.3 G acceleration empty, ability to carry one standard 30 cargo pod, one passenger seat, a fresher and galley for long trips, and comfortable seats.
The streamlined hypersonic hull makes the SSC15MCT ideal for use as a fuel skimmer when it is carrying a specialized cargo pod for fuel skimming.
The hull structure is strong enough to allow the craft to accelerate at a full 11.3 Gs as long as no human beings are on board. The G-compensators effectively limit the acceleration to about 5 Gs when there are living beings on board. When a robotic pilot is used this limit would be lifted.
