Design Notes:

The SSC15L launch was designed to offer high performance and capacity while minimizing the cost of the craft (less than 1 MCr in volume). It is designed to carry an optional pilot (the craft can be operated under remote control) and up to 11 passengers, in addition to 12 tons of cargo. The pilot is provided with an open crewstation. The passenger's seats are adequate. A fresher is provided for the comfort of the passengers during flight. Since most flights are of short duration no food services are provided.

Contra-grav lifters are used on the SSC15L for propulsion rather than thrusters to reduce cost. The down side of using Contra-grav lifters is that the launch must be used near a gravity well. In most cases this is not a problem as most star ships carry a ship's boat to land on a planet's surface where the ship can not land safely. The high passenger and cargo capacity of this launch makes the SSC15L ideal for this purpose. With 2.6 G acceleration when fully loaded the SSC15L launch can land on and take off from high G worlds where many star ships can not land with only 1 G acceleration. A fusion reactor provides the SSC15L with power for a full year between refuelings.

The SSC15L is very common among independent starship operators due to its competitive pricing and high capacity. Thousands of examples of this launch have been produced over the years. These launches are constructed primarily at the Svenson's Small Craft LIC shipyards in Rylanor Rylanor/Spinward Marches, Ariis Ariis/Verge and Sylea Capital/Core.
