Design Notes
The Collier class fuel skimmer was originally designed to support refueling at the Harper Orbital Station in the Vienna system (Nass/Verge 26/35). Of course, it is be used in many other situations where fuel skimmers are needed and hundreds of Colliers are in service in systems near Ariis.
The Collier’s fuel scoops can fill its tanks in one hour and the fuel purification system can purify the full load in 12 hours.
There is a fresher and a galley to allow for extended operations. The passenger is intended to serve as a second shift, should the pilot/engineer get fatigued during extended operations. A lifeboat is provided to emergency evacuation of the craft.
The Collier’s size and design allows it to be easily transported via jump shuttles.
