Design Notes:
The Hawk is designed to provide powerful system defense capabilities. The Hawk provides a powerful punch with it's twin laser turrets and missile turrets. It is well protected with armor, a quad 16 Mj VRF PD laser turret to chew up incoming missiles and twin sandcasters to stop incoming laser attacks. It is very fast, being able to accelerate at 4 G's.
The Hawk is specifically designed to be attached to and carried by SSC’s line of jump tugs, so it is easily transportable from system to system, as needed.
It can stay on station for extended periods, as it carries 6 months food for the crew. There is a lounge, kitchen and gym for both the officers and the enlisted men. A medic and complete sick bay are included to maintain the crews health. On-board maintenance can be performed as necessary using the electronics and machine shops.
This design is based on the TL 15 SDB listed in the MegaTraveller: Imperial Encyclopedia copyright GDW 1987. The primary changes from the original design are the inclusion of the VRF PD laser, sandcasters, and 8 ships troops (1O, 7E).
