"The Great Svenny" drawn by Marcio Fiorito used with permission from Zeitgeist Games, Inc.
Back in the early 70's, I was one of the original play testers of a role playing game that we called Blackmoor, which later became a very popular game now known as "Dungeons & Dragons". In the game I became known as The Great Svenny.
Write-ups of my character can be found in "The First Fantasy Campaign" by published by Judges Guild in 1977 and TSR's DA1 "Adventures in Blackmoor" module. A new D&D 3rd Edition (d20) module called "Dave Arneson's Blackmoor" is being published by Zeitgeist Games.
I participated in hundreds of adventures in the early days of the game. Recently I wrote descriptions of several of the most memorable adventures. My character was made the Baron of Newgate during the campaign and still holds that role in the new Blackmoor campaign.
