Svensons Small Craft, LIC, an Imperial Mega Corporation, and a member of the Imperial Ship Builders Association (ISBA). Builders of vehicles and small craft of all types through out the Third Imperium. Products include cargo containers, life boats, air rafts, satellites, shuttles, launches, modular cutters, small custom lab boats, system defense boats, and small civilian starships, in addition to fighters and small warships marketed to both military and civilian markets. Currently there are over 120 designs are available at this site.

History

Svensons Small Craft, LIC (SSC) was formed by Andrew Svenson, a noble of Solomani descent, in Sylea in the year -38. The original products of the corporation were cargo containers and life boats. By -13 the product line had expanded to include launches and shuttle craft of all sizes.

In the year -9 an attempt was made to enter the Imperial Navy market with the Killer Bee class light fighters. The Killer Bee was never adopted by the Navy, but did enjoy some success in the civilian and export markets. The success of the Killer Bee led to development of the Wasp class of fighters for commercial customers (shipping lines in need of protection). With these under SSC's belt, SSC was a natural selection as an alternate source for light fighters for the Imperial Navy in year 12.

SSC built their first starship in year 29. The Copernicus, a prototype lab ship in response to an IISS RFP. Winning this competition and the related contract from the IISS led to the construction of a variety of small scout/couriers for the IISS in addition to the lab ships. Other civilian starship designs followed.

As the Third Imperium grew, so did SSC. Currently, there are SSC or subsidiary shipyards on nearly every high population world in the Imperium with at least a prestellar technology spinward of Sylea. There is very little corporate presence to the trailing side of Sylea. Prestellar and early stellar worlds are pretty much limited to cargo containers and life boats. Early stellar worlds may also produce launches and air rafts. Average and high stellar worlds may produce shuttles and various boats. There are only four SSC shipyards that produce starships. They are located at Sylea (later called Capital/Capital/Core), Ariis (Ariis/Verge), Rhylanor (Rhylanor/Spinward Marches) and the new corporate headquarters at Porozlo (Rhylanor/Spinward Marches). There is only one SSC shipyard that produces larger ships, it is located on Ariis (Ariis/Verge) and is operated by Karelia Industries (a fully owned subsidiary of SSC LIC) which supports the Ariisite Colonial Navy.

Today SSC is known for building custom scout/couriers, escorts, patrol craft, lab ships, yachts, traders, and liners in addition to the original small craft, life boats and cargo containers. Although, the original products are still the bread and butter of the corporation.
