Design Notes
The Le Tres class Landing Craft - Tank (LCT) was designed for Oberlindes Lines. It carries one 10 ton grav tank and 10 troops in full battledress from the ship to the ground. It accelerates at 2 G using thruster plates. The grav tank is normally grappled to the deck of the craft. The troops are in a hold with a small hatch to exit from the craft. The seats can be removed from the hold to allow the craft to hold 5 tons of cargo (at reduced performance).
Defenses include electrostatic armor, sandcaster, nuclear damper and an automated quad VRF PD laser turret. There is a 25 Mj fusion cannon which is mounted in a turret that can be used offensively, under control of the crafts gunner, against enemy ground or space forces. The fusion cannon has a short (effective) range of 750 meters and a maximum range of 20 km. It is equipped with a beam pointer (50 km range) and ballistic computer.
