Personal Information
I was born and raised in Excelsior, Minnesota, a western suburb of Minneapolis. I graduated
from Minnetonka Senior High School in 1972. I enjoyed
sports and participated on the football team as an offensive and defensive
tackle, on the wrestling team as the heavy weight and on the track team running
the 880 and throwing the shot-put and discus.
I received BS degrees in Mathematics
and Computer Science from Mankato State University
in Mankato, Minnesota in 1977. I have been into
computers ever since for both work and recreation.
I am married to a wonderful woman, Paula. She is a native of Finland,
having moved to the United
States as a young adult. We have a large family with a
daughter, four sons and a grandson. Our daughter, Shasta, is
an English Teacher at Harmony High School in Osceola County,
FL. She and her husband, Brian, own home in St. Cloud,
FL. Richard is now living on his own and working as a bar tender. Kevin is
living on his own and is a partner in Patriot A/C and
Heating. Derek lives with his brothers and should graduate from St.
Petersburg College this semester. Our
ten year old son, Teddy is growing into quite a neat little
person. He is really into animals and nature. Teddy is in 4th grade at Suncoast Christian
School. And last but not
least, is Shasta's son, our grandson, Corwin. He is
six years old.
I am a Christian. I attend Grace Community Church (Presbyterian Church in America) in Palm Harbor, FL.
If you live in or are visiting our area, you are welcome to worship with us.
I enjoy my butterfly garden, walking,
canoeing, jazz and classical music, genealogy, writing computer programs and
playing games. I am interested in history, astronomy, nature and science
fiction. I have had number of unusual hobbies
ranging from historical reenacting to playing role-playing games and collecting
historical miniatures.
