Design Details:
The Aasi class jump shuttles are designed to jump capabilities for 400 ton spacecraft. The ship is primarily used by the Imperial Navy, Imperial Scout Service, colonial navies and private corporations to move SDBs, orbital research facilities and any other non-jump capable spacecraft from the system where they were built to the system where they are intended to be permanently deployed. It has also been used to carry 400 ton cargo pods as if it were a freighter. There are literally thousands of Aasis in service.
The spacecraft to be moved must be specifically designed allow it to be attached to the jump shuttle. The Aasi comes with fuel scoops and purification facilities to allow it to refuel in frontier areas. Normally, the Aasi will detach it's cargo before attempting refueling, unless the cargo/spacecraft has been specially designed to fit with the Aasi in a streamlined configuration.
The Aasi as described here is the Military/Scout version with a Quad 18Mj VRF PD laser turret (with an MFD) and a sandcaster turret. These are primarily defensive in nature. Civilian versions come with two empty turret sockets, standard computers and have about a half ton of extra storage. The statistics for the civilian model are in blue above.
