Hi,
it's me, Ed (Eddie) Graham... With just a few thousand words to familiarize you who are interested and enlighten you who are accidental visitors. Yep, I'm a drummer, not to be confused with salesperson to whom that term also applies, but a musician type and more specifically a jazz oriented player embracing the classic styles of Jazz.
I grew up between big band and bebop eras so I'm well versed in those traditional styles with an affinity for New Orleans Jazz. For whoever cares about such things, I play vintage Slingerland drums and I am totally Zildjian with cymbals.
A comprehensive bio follows as well as a discography (yep, I've recorded for several labels). Some of the music I have personally produced is available on cassette and CD, and MP3 samples will be available for downloading shortly. Still gettin' the hang of this technology so check back periodically for possible progress in that regard. Currently residing near Tampa Florida. I enjoy traveling for guest appearances with good swinging jazz groups and as a clinician. I do teach privately for serious individuals... I mean serious about their music. For whatever reason you may reach me at EdLana Productions (727) 697-3366 or E-Mail
Born November 18, 1937, in New York City of German and Scottish heritage then raised as a teen in Miami Florida. An Edison High graduate attended University of Miami on a full music scholarship. Fled to California encouraged by parents who funded a one-way bus ticket! Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, Carmel Valley, Orlando, Tampa,
Monterey, Ca., and most recently Little Switzerland, NC. have all been residences at various times. Touring, teaching and performing have taken me all over the globe so I guess the wanderlust bug is firmly entrenched. I enjoy making new friends and finding good restaurants in far off locales as well as bringing the gospel of swinging Jazz to as many people as possible.
I believe music definitely has therapeutic value and encourage everyone to take it up if only as a hobby. 'Tis a rewarding challenge at any age. Lotsa fun, makes you feel good, makes you move, can be done alone (as an alternative to other personal pursuits) and it is universal to all cultures on this planet !!
