Take To The Field was recorded at Peace Memorial Presbytarian Church, in Clearwater Florida. The Organ, used on Highland Cathedral & Amazing Grace, was built in 1974 by The Casavant Organ Company, Canada. The majestic organ now totals 55 ranks since its addition in 1986 by the Reuter Organ Co. Piper, Michael Lo Bue, aka: The Renegade Piper, arranged and played the organ parts on the organ's 4 manual console & pedalboard. We still don't know how he managed to play the bagpipe solo on Highland Cathedral at the same time! "Well," Lo Bue says, of Digiwave Studios, Tampa, Florida,"Thanks to Emagic Logic Audio software, and a Digidesign audio card installed in a Macintosh computer, multi-track recording was made possible to complete this task." The pipe band tracks were all recorded onto digital audio tape in several recording sessions. This allowed for each member of the band to be included on the album. The DATs were then transferred to the Macintosh, via Digidesign hardware & Logic Audio Software, for mixing, processing and for adding the brass, woodwinds and other orchestral parts via MIDI. Once everything was finished, a pre-master CD and master DAT were made. The CD & DAT was then sent to Disc Makers, Pennsauken NJ, for final mastering and manufacturing. |
