During his weekly sermon, Rev. Jack Kelly; a Methodist preacher in Seminole, FL. (later transfered to Hollywood, FL.) would ask if anyone experienced anything unusual during the week. He would then draw a picture illustrating the experience. I spoke out about seeing three crosses in baron land.
Later, I got the shock of my life! I was awakened by a calling of my name at 3:00 am by a voice saying: Go Forth My Son and Bring My Flocks Together. Still in shock, I asked, "Why Me?" I lacked knowledge and had limited skills to carry out such a task. His reply was, "You can do it and I'll help." (Veterans Day; Nov. 11, 1980)
While a patient at Bay Pines VA Hospital, Rev. Richard Behringer of Chapel On The Hill came to visit. On my first two decals there was a Blue/Star at the bottom two corners, when I asked what they meant he said: You-Will! And I Did! "The Star Of Joy". Conceive, Receive, Believe, Relieve, and Achieve!
| The first two decals had The Star Of Joy, (Two square decals) then the 3rd was round and a few colors while the 4th was the final logo with all seven colors.
In December 1980 I wrote Charles Lindberg. Suribachi, Iwo Jima, Feb. 23, 1945. This story is recorded on my website which is archived in the Marine Corps/archives, Quantico, VA. |

After much research and 57 years of persistence, the historic record now shows the name of "Raymond Jacobs" as the radioman of the first flag raising. (http://web.tampabay.rr.com/babi/iwojima.html), webmaster Harold Dangler with God's help, and many others listed. Completed In 30+ years as a (Basic Homebound) Former Marine (WW II)
I received many hidden rewards along the way including the ability to share my experience with others via my website. My Dogtags, lost at Guadalcanal Island were returned to me (http://web.tampabay.rr.com/babi/dogtag.html). No experience meant more to me than my son Doug who lived in San Antonia, TX. Taking me to visit the Alamo, thereby granting my Life Time desire. Being in the ALAMO! Though I understand the disbelief of this website being simply etc. but reminds me of something in the Good Book: " There's No One so blind as Some One who refuses to see!"
I could ask no more than to be proud to serve my country while in the Marine Corps, honor our family name (Dangler) and to serve my God.
Marine (439667) Harold F. Dangler, B.A.B.I. (Pres.)
