On January 18 and 19, 2003, CARS held their first annual Winter Picnic. This event coincided with the ARRL VHF Sweepstakes and the North American QSO Party. The event was held at the 4-H facility in Pinellas County. The CLUB decided to run this like a 'Winter Field Day', that is a Field Day without mosquitoes and lightning danger. A great time was had by all. CARS looks forward to next year's event. Thanks to Chris, N4BSA for organizing the event and Dan, W4BNC for cooking a wonderful Steak and Lobster dinner. Thanks also to Dan, AI4ET for assisting with the food and being a great all around host. Special thanks to Jeb and Big Al. Click on the thumbnail for the full sized picture.
